While I profess to be a 71-year-old nondenominational Christian woman, I'm still on a journey to be a good one. At the beginning of this book's description, the author raised the question: "Is it God's will for us to accept death as a given and ask no further questions? Are we to be left dangling in the dark about these things, left to subsist in the ever-present fear of such unannounced uncertainty – to take death as it comes without so much as batting an eyelid?

As a Christian woman, I've looked at death as part of our destiny, which I believe depends on our lives living in agreement with the Lord's teachings through our daily decisions. This gets illustrated in what we read in JEREMIAH 17:10 [NLT]:

"But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve."

And in ROMANS 8:27 [NLT], we find the following:

"And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will."

About the Lord, we are reminded that according to NUMBER 23:19 [NLT] that:

"God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?"

Regarding achieving our destiny, we need to follow the instructions we're given, such as the instruction found in PROVERBS 19:20 [NLT]:

"Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life."

The culmination of our destiny ends with what we find written in REVELATION 20:12 [NLT]:

"I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books."

So, let us conform to the will of the Lord so our destiny will be one we can be proud and joyous of achieving, which would include our dying, complete with a comprehension of accepting death in the proper perspective. None of us, as Christians, know the intentions of what the Lord is doing; all we know is that it is according to His divine plans for each of us.

Once again, author W.L. Sorrell is taking his readers back to the Lord instead of away from Him or making a U-TURN to resolve an issue facing them. For wanting to educate his readers about the topic for the book, I've given Mr. Sorrell 5 STARS.

I felt a certain kinship to the book’s protagonist, Bull. Why? Before publishing my first two Christian fiction books days before my 69th birthday, I’d lived a secular existence and had no relationship with the Lord of any kind. The publication of these books almost immediately inspired me to become a Christian blogger with a passion for sharing the words of the Lord daily, which began my relationship with Him today.

A definitive transformation occurs to Bull in this book, a transformation I experienced in my life, causing my life to feel more fulfilled than ever before. Before, my life had no purpose, direction, or sense of belonging, all of which it now has.

Just as we drive our cars and find we’re traveling in the wrong direction, we make a U-TURN to travel in the right direction. By making a U-TURN in our lives and existence, we find transforming ourselves into individuals who have a purpose and sense of belonging in our lives to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I lived my life both ways, just as Bull does in this book, and it’s far better walking with the Lord than walking the same path alone.

For wanting his readers to turn their lives around for the better, the way Bull has, I’ve given Mr. Sorrell 5 STARS for his endeavor here.

Anxiety is something that the vast majority of us suffer from in different degrees. Anxiety makes our existence stressful to the extent that our entire body suffers from it. It is a condition which each one of us seeks to be free of. And too many of us, unfortunately, wind up realizing that everything we try doing is, in reality, are acts of pointlessness, despite the sweat we put into being free of it.

According to the book’s author, W.L. Sorrell, the Lord’s words [scripture] can never be wrong in what it is telling us regarding continuously struggling, as I’ve stated already stated.

Being Christians, we should know that our Lord never intentionally wants us to struggle uselessly to transform our lives. He must realize that our Lord desires that we change it through His graciousness as well as the purifying supernatural strength of His Holy Spirit.

Any change we desire can never stem from our minds; they originate in the hearts of souls.

The 12 short stories by the author are akin to the parables told by Jesus, for they operate on two levels, the visual and physical of what gets read and the underlining message of what has taken place. The stories got written to give readers a sense of the Lord’s promise of watching over their wellbeing through His continuous encouragement and support of our souls, and perhaps why we’ve experienced what we have.

To want his readers to experience a positive transformation in their lives by changing what’s in their hearts, I’ve given Mr. Sorrell the 5 STARS he’s garnered from this reviewer of nonfiction Christian books.

If you’re familiar with the song Amazing Grace, then you know it’s a song of thanks and praise to the Lord for having taken someone out of the abyss that they’ve been in for a long time to where they are now. Then you’ll be able to understand and appreciate the transformational opportunities this book provides for its readers.

The author of this book, W.L. Sorrell, wants to have his readers understand and change their relationships with the Lord from one of fear caused by not knowing what the Holy Spirit is all about and who the Holy Spirit is, to one that is full of love for Him. And just like the Lord, who had used parables in getting His messages and lessons across to those who had been listening to Him. Mr. Sorrell has used analogies to get the purpose of his writing this book across to his readers.

Analogies are marvelous tools, which gives those reading them something they’ll be able to relate to. So, instead of still being left in the dark as to what things actually are, and in the case of this book, a better understanding of who/what the Holy Spirit is. Being left in the dark usually creates a fear, a fear which can prevent an individual from getting to truly know someone.

For wanting to kindle a light in his reader’s minds regarding the Holy Spirit, I’ve given Mr. Sorrell the 5 STARS he’s gotten from this reviewer of nonfiction Christian books.
