Susan Steggall

The Life of a Car is all about what its like to build and use a car. This book will take you through a series of events on what the process is to make a car. You will be surprised by how much work actually goes into cars everyday. Susan does an amazing job with illustrating a good image of workers working on the cars and people driving around in the cars. This would be a good book to read to students who are interested in cars and also what its like to own a car.

A great picture book with rhyming sentences accompanied by marvelous artwork.

Curriculum Connection: machines that we use to build with.

This book is quite difficult to read in my opinion. The text was difficult to follow. There wasn't enough contrast between the font colors and background pictures. I liked how the fonts moved with the machines, but it was difficult to see the order of text and the actual words. The other thing I disliked was the main idea, it wasn't very clear. I think it was just telling of the different jobs that construction workers do.
