An lavishly produced, opulently illustrated, and massive book on the IUCN Natural World Heritage sites of the world, including a list of "new" world heritage parks proposed in 1993. Admittedly terribly dated, but the book takes you through some of the most outstanding sites for natural beauty and wildlife, many of them not usually on the average person's radar. Each entry is dealt with in 2-3 pages (of large format, 12" by 9.5"), with a general description as well as specific information on location, access, facilities, etc. My only quibble is that it would have been nice to have a sketch map of each location, as many of them are too remote to figure on a normal atlas.… (meer)
