Complete Art Foundation Course: Drawing, Wat… door Nick Tidnam Tappenden, Paul Thomas, Anita Taylor Curtis
This is a bit more than a simple "how to draw" book. I like the way that they venture off the beaten track into cave art and drawing after Picasso and even into using electronic drawing tools (though, given it was published in 2006, a lot has happened in the electronic drawing world since then). The authors have drawing classes for students and this shows through. Clearly it is a foundation course and, I think, rather well done. Debating whether to keep it ... but I'm trying to reduce my library to something more manageable. Four stars from me.… (meer)
This is a fairly standard introduction to watercolour painting. I didn’t notice any great techniques that I hadn’t seen elsewhere and generally, I wasn’t attracted by the style of painting in the book. So I will be donating to the Lifeline book sales. Two stars from me.
