Easy, breezy, beautiful Twitter Girl.

Snarky, funny, with a great love story, and a main character who ends up with a happy end because of her introspection and integrity.

So much more than just a fluffy rom-com, but still has all the elements to make it a truly enjoyable chick lit reading experience.

I would like to thank Harper Impulse for approving me to read this on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun to read, easy to get into, and the events were interesting. I loved Cassidy! She is quick witted, sarcastic, and snarky! Known as @TwitterGirl, she writes that one controversial tweet that slaughters here TV career. She gets fired, only to be swept up by Will Becker's political campaign and gets hired to do what she does best, tweeting sarcastically.

Review

This book was what I consider a light fun read. Quite funny for chick-lit! I enjoyed the diverse range of characters. We got to meet co-worker Tyler, her younger brother Sam, and her best friend Ripley.

I haven't read anything by Nic Tatano before, but I'll be sure to keep her to my list of authors to keep an eye out for.

Wing Girl is a witty, interesting, fast paced book with well-crafted three dimensional characters so real they jump off the page straight into your imagination.

The world of television investigative journalism and the New York dating scene are the back drop for a 'My Fair Lady' transformation of Belinda a top ranked TV investigative journalist who erstwhile has deliberately downgraded her appearance in favour of her IQ and journalistic talent.

Known by her three best friends as 'Wing Girl' they happily trade on her celebrity which draws all manner of sexy men their way. Ariel, Serena and Roxanne reap the benefits whilst Belinda scares off would be lovers with her lack of social skills and dowdy appearance. The interactions between Belinda and her friends are entertaining, humorous and often poignant.

After the makeover which is described in Belinda's own words and is hilarious, the swan is reborn from the ugly duckling but she still has some way to go before she can lose the Wing Girl nick name. Two men feature in her life. Vincent is her nemesis but no one said love was easy. Scott is her ideal lover until the plot twists and their relationship becomes problematical.

The romance is sweet and there is also a mystery to be solved which shows the author's knowledge of investigative journalism and gives the story an additional dimension which makes it hard to put down.

Wing Girl is a delicious cocktail of great characters in a dynamic setting woven into an intriguing plot and did I mention the cats that are an instant appeal for all us animal lovers out there.

This is definitely a story which would make wonderful television. Don't believe me read it now.

After reading and loving 'Wing Girl' Nic Tatano's first Rom-com novel last year I looked forward to reading 'Boss Girl' which in many ways is the antithesis of the first book.

Boss Girl's premise of powerful women preying on male starlets is both compelling and unsavory. Young, career hungry men trade sex with dominant female bosses for advancement. The author's 'inside' TV knowledge gives the storyline a realistic edge.

Sydney Hack (great name) and her three cohorts are single minded career women determined to make it in the cut throat world of television. Survival in an appearance orientated, ratings dependent industry has made all four women dominant and sexually aggressive. Despite her less than politically correct recruitment polices Sydney manages to improve ratings by using women over thirty on their TV programmes with a much younger male co-anchor.

The female characters are charmingly flawed and flamboyant but likeable even if you don't condone their actions. The male characters are self-serving narcissists. Only Shawn stands out as an unlikely hero. There are constant references to the female leads' sexual exploits but this is not an erotic story.

Boss Girl is a thoughtful foray into what goes on behind the TV screen. For maximum enjoyment don't take this book too seriously. It is a tongue in cheek look at a power obsessed industry and the individuals in it who in some cases will go to any lengths for a headline.

The Adventures of Jillian Spectre is an exciting experience seen through the eyes of a seventeen year schoolgirl who has a special psychic talent. Jillian lives in the mystic quarter of New York and is a seer with defined powers pertaining to romance. When her psychic talents develop and her absent father appears Jillian's adventures become life changing and apocalyptic.

The story has strong, likeable characters and a fast paced plot. It portrays popular themes in original ways and contains a strong thread of humour which mindful of the intended audience counterbalances the dark themes explored. This sweet romance allows the reader glimpses into the conflicts faced by a teenage girl who helps the others with their love lives but can't see what lies in store for her.

The antagonist is a doubly dangerous since Jillian naturally wants to know her father yet must fight against the evil he threatens the world with. The ending is suspenseful and satisfying and leaves enough loose endings to make me want to read what happens next.

An enjoyable interesting read.

'It Girl' has a fast paced, humorous, edgy plot. Veronica Summers is a strong heroine and the setting has great TV and Media detail. This book recaptures all the witty dialogue and romance of 'Wing Girl', Nic Tatano's first book, which I love.
All the characters are vividly portrayed and Veronica's friends and confidantes; Savannah and Layla are notable. The plot has a couple of unexpected outcomes, which make for an enjoyable read and there is a romantic hero who is not what he seems.
'It Girl' is a well written Rom Com from a sound knowledge base, which makes it both credible and a page turner.

Twitter Girl is a must read, if you love witty dialogue. Add to this, media industry insight, delivered by vivid, easily visualised characters and you have an enjoyable read. Like 'Wing Girl', the first book by Nic Tatano, this sweet, romantic comedy is full of snarky lines from independent, career minded women, who speak their mind, before they consider the consequences.

TV journalist Cassidy's television career depends on her brash, no nonsense opinions. Twitter proves the perfect social media vehicle to get her noticed but a misconstrued tweet, puts her at the centre of a controversy. Her twitter following grows and lands her a new job on the road to 'The White House' with wannabe presidential nominee, Will Becker, eligible and drop dead gorgeous.

The cast of characters includes a dynamic, loyal best friend, Ripley. Dependable, loving younger brother, Sam and Tyler, a carbon copy of her much loved brother, who always has her best interests at heart. Will Becker is Cassidy's boss and the focus of her desire but does he reciprocate? Can she solve the mystery surrounding him even if she risks breaking her heart?

Romance, friendship, political conspiracy all features in this light hearted story but the dark secrets are shocking and force Cassidy to value what's real rather than the fantasy.

2.5 Stars

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and HarperImpulse to review.

I found this to be an easy, interesting read. I really liked the world that Nic Tatano built and I found myself intrigued by the whole concept. I liked the idea of a world where having paranormal powers are not a secret. The idea of a muse was something that I thought was rather original, which is satisfying when reading a book in this genre, because it seems almost everything has been done already.

Overall I was dissatisfied. I found the characters to be rather two dimensional. I didn't find myself believing in any of the romance aspects of the book. It was similar to insta-love, yet maybe the author is just trying to depict teenage relationships.

The whole teenagers-saving-the-world thing has been done a hundred times, and it was boring in this book. Also, the morals they are trying to show you in this book? Very after school special, and very obnoxious. "Technology is turning us into zombies" and "we all decided to wait".... seriously? Maybe if I was in elementary school this book would have been a good read, but I don't think it is a YA book.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley(dot)com.

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny, and not what I was expecting.
Jillian is a seer but she can only see in to people's romantic future. That changes the day she accidentally sees someone's future after they've died. She sees into the Afterlife. She tells her mom who immediately tells the Council (the people who monitor Gifted people). Jillian then learns that her father is not actually dead, but is very much alive, and very evil. He has a direct line to Hell, and he is very powerful. He is also trying to destroy the world and it is up to Jillian and her friends to stop him.

I am excited to read the next book.
