This book is not geared towards me and I don't really like the way it is written. Each chapter has a memoir part, commentary on what the author learned after the experience described in the memoir and then a list of strategies. Though I find the suggestions in the strategies section helpful, I would like more memoir. I can see the usefulness of the format for someone else, however. His lists of strategies are useful even if you are not ADHD, because they have useful organizational tips. I think 5-7th grade boys who are trying to learn to organize their schoolwork and books are the ones who could benefit from this book. The big problem is that I don't think 5-7th grade boys would read this book and they wouldn't listen to their parents who had read the book.

A firsthand account of one young man’s battle with ADHD and some wonderful insights into what a reader with ADHD could do to overcome the brain’s inability to stay focused. Think of this as a manual to cope for someone with ADHD. The chapters are arranged well and set up so that the reader can reference particular issues and see helpful solutions and “cause and effect” or summaries of what the author has learned from all of his own experiences.
