David Wooster Taylor

This book was not so bad, but it didn't hold my interest. It is a nice biography of James Rolph, Jr., written by someone who was a close associate of his. I think it may also have been written for school children. Anyway, I was interested because I'm a native Californian and hadn't heard of him, but apparently the official name of the Bay Bridge is The James "Sunny" Rolph Jr. Bridge. I learned that on Wikipedia though, not in the book. After the first five chapters, which still left me very much in the dark about who this man was and why he was important, I went to the internet and looked him up. There I read all the interesting bits of his life, then skimmed the book to see if the author included them (he did), and decided I didn't need to read all the flowery bits in between.… (meer)
