At first, I got bogged down with this book, but as the story progressed, I found myself caring for Mr. Taylor's characters, in particular Adam (arguably, the main character). Though the story within a story took a little getting used to (think extended flashbacks), I found myself not wanting to stop. Literally, I had to keep the book by my bedside, just so I could get in a chapter or two.
Fortunately, it's a fast read, and smaller than most novels that I've encountered. There are some grammatical flaws, but for a first book, I was impressed. Would I buy a sequel? Probably. By then, Mr. Taylor's writing should be more honed, just so long as he continues to keep the characters interesting (which appears to be his strong point).… (meer)
