The reviews promised comparisons of modern AI to other systems used by writers to decide how a story might work. seems to argue that the "AI" tools that spew stories that read and sound like the stories were written by humans are just another way of gaming the rules of writing stories that will please reader. The "just-a-tool" approach invites a question about the purpose of the tool - is to make money? The idea of building a machine to make products called books or stories that can be owned by companies and sold seems to align to an argument that companies should be able to build any machines or softwware that may make profitable products
Some argue that corporations, governments and bureaucracies are inhuman intelligences using large language models to build articial intelligences that can spew bullshit just like human bureaucrats and politicians - at a lower cost than human writers of propaganda and "creative" content.
