The book is an attempt to show what the author supposes to be weaknesses with straightforward interpretations of the Biblical text, thus creating a doubt of the veracity of the text and allowing his alternate interpretation. But unfortunately, he seems unfamiliar with hundreds of years of existing apologetics which provide rebuttals to his position. By not dealing with any existing literature on the topic he puts himself outside of the general discussion. As such, the book is not useful to the dialog where it is occurring and truly lives up to its name. It is esoteric, belonging only to the group of people who are isolated from the larger discussion.… (meer)
