This is essentially a tree identification book for older children. While the text is attractively laid out and designed, I believe clear sharp photographs, not drawings, would have been far more useful for kids interested in actually observing and naming the trees around them. I also felt that the identification section ought to have come last in the book—that is, AFTER background information on general tree biology had been presented. It’s an appealing enough book to glance through, but I don’t think it quite achieves its intended purpose. I don’t see this as an essential purchase for a school or public library.… (meer)
