A lovely gift book with illustrations from medieval manuscripts and short pieces but I had hoped for a bit more 'discussion' of medieval dog breeds, roles and their place in society.

Lots of snippits of interesting material about cats in the middle ages, based on authentic sources and archaeological evidence, thugh not a sserious scholarly study. Illustrated wit nice reproductions of medieval illuminations of cats.
