Karis Walsh is solidifying herself as my go-to author when I want a touching romance filled with smart, witty, grown-ups. Liberty Bay has just the right amount of angst, good pacing, sweet romance and relationship building, and characters I can relate to and believe in. I loved these two women together.

I know this is a short review but I can sum up my feelings about the book simply by saying I loved the story, the setting, and Gina and Wren. Now I wait for the next release by Ms. Walsh.

Thanks to BSB and NetGalley for the ARC. It was nice to wrap my 2020 reading with this lovely novel.

I definitely enjoyed this sweet, funny romance. I absolutely loved the author's last book and thought I'd like this one at least as much but, alas, not quite. While there was good chemistry and I liked all of the characters - even the secondary ones - it was a bit too predictable with the job situation and I felt like I was just waiting for it to happen because it seemed so obvious.

I'm glad there was no "is she or isn't she" or community issues with the f/f aspect of the story, and the angst was pretty low-level. Loved that the couple were upfront in their communication and expectations! With all of that out of the way, I could enjoy their relationship and love the doggies.

I'll be waiting for the next book by Ms. Walsh.

Thanks to Netgalley and BSB for the opportunity to read and review this one!

I haven't read anything by Karis Walsh in a really long time. I think the last one I read was Sea Glass Inn and it was super angsty. Good, but by the end, I felt like it was just too much. I hadn't felt compelled to read another by the author until I was a victim of peer pressure.

Wow, I'm so glad I was shoved into picking this book up. I don't know if it was the mood I was in or what but this book was very nearly my perfect romance novel. Lovely human beings for main characters who had fantastic chemistry, great humor that kept me smiling - and even laughing - throughout, and just enough angst to make my feel it in the heart. And a cute doggie, too!

So why only 4 stars instead of 5? Because the mid-scene POV shifts yanked me out of the story too many times. If I have to stop to look at the previous paragraph to make sure I wasn't mistaken on whose head I was in, I've lost some of that wonderful connection to the character. I enjoyed the story enough to never consider putting the book down but I did curse a few times when I was thoroughly engrossed in the action or emotion and then pushed into the other characters head.

Even with the POV thing, I will be reading this one again. It has earned a spot on my Cheri's Funk Reading List

I didn't enjoy this one much at all. I liked the idea of the book and I love the guide dog/puppy training aspect. Unfortunately, I didn't feel any chemistry at all between the couple and their constant doubts were just too much for me to get past. I probably would have gone 1.5 but am rounding up because of the dogs.

Unless I hear differently from a friend I trust, this will very likely be my last book by the author.
