This book deserves a three because it is great for young girls who like sleepovers and it shows good friendships. However, this book is out of date and it only represents one gender (female). Young girls reading this book will enjoy this because they can think about their own experiences when they have been hanging out with their friends and having a good time. Also, one of the characters in the book, Penny, was being an excellent friend by helping Minnie get ready for her party. Also, it showed compassion when Minnie had neglected to invite Penny. This will show children how to act towards people who are helping them. However, there are mentions of records in this book, which shows that it is out of date. Although it is not bad to include history in books, children will not understand what they are. Finally, this is a very female only book, because there are no male characters. Not saying a boy could not enjoy this book, but most boys would not want to read it because it looks very feminine and is a very feminine book.… (meer)
