My interest in all of the details is modest enough that it did get tedious. Yet, I wouldn’t change the book because it is nice to have such a thorough treatment showing what life was like then.

Covers the sedition, sometimes caused by poverty, sometimes political awareness, clearly as well as the role of spies.
