- Over mij
- Hand built over a 12-year period, from about 1898 to 1910, El Alisal stands along the Arroyo Seco in Los Angeles, CA and was the home of Charles Fletcher Lummis – an author, editor, activist, photographer, civic booster and founder of the Southwest Museum.
The architecture of El Alisal is a reflection of Lummis’ passion for the history and cultures of the American Southwest, as well as the beginning of the Arts & Crafts aesthetic in Southern California. El Alisal is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument, a California Historical Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, El Alisal is a museum operated by the Department of Recreation and Parks, City of Los Angeles - Woonplaats
