Over mij
When I was very little, my favorite thing in the whole world was for my Grandmother to read to me. I especially loved to hear her read The Secret Book of Gnomes. Since then I’ve always thought of myself as rather Gnomic. I am rather small, have wild wooly hair, and as a child, I would seek out subterranean worlds in the bottom of the wardrobe or under the ferns in the back garden. There I would read to my heart’s content until I either got hungry or someone realized I was missing and came looking for me. Now I’m a grown-up with a husband and a mad cat as well as my books for company. I live a rather peripatetic lifestyle, moving from place to place for my profession. I work simultaneously for a small academic library, a small public library and a large public library spanning two provinces. I am a nomadic professional. I have a large monthly planner to remind me where I’m supposed to be at any given moment. This mostly works fine – if you can keep it away from the mad cat. I write a blog called the Gnomadic Librarian.
