I am an author of historical novels set in Poland. PUSH NOT THE RIVER is based on the diary of a countess who lived in the tumultuous 1790s when Poland was being threatened by Austria, Prussia, and Russia. AGAINST A CRIMSON SKY follows up with many of the same characters, taking the story into the Napoleonic era when Polish soldiers followed Napoleon as he marched to Russia.
