I love how books feel when they're new and the pages are like lovers that have never been apart...
there's a friction in turning them that screams against separation.
I love how books smell when they're old... the glorified microscopic sweat beads that dried decades before are musty with thought.
I love the binding of books that haven't been touched for ages...when you put your hand on the inner spine to better read halfway through, it sounds like the snapping of a dozen celery stalks all at once.
I love how a dry finger turns a page with the same shuffling sound that my slippered feet make across the kitchen floor.
