Over mijn bibliotheek
The purpose of the Palatine Emergency Management Volunteer Library is to provide access to training and educational materials related to emergency management. The library will be housed in the back office at the EOC in Village Hall. The library will be opening on February 1. The library is open to all vaolunteers and students of our classes, however, a registered volunteer must be responsible for all items checked out. The library will be open before or after regularly scheduled ERT and group meetings. For more information, please email our librarian, Pat Dumbaugh, at pdumbaugh@comcast.net.
Over mij
We are the Palatine Emergency Management Agency. We believe that everyone can do something to help make our families and our communities safer through:

Personal responsibility: Developing a household preparedness plan and disaster supplies kits, observing home health and safety practices, implementing disaster mitigation measures, and participating in crime prevention and reporting. Our Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Speakers Bureau can supply a speaker to your community group who can discuss preparedness and response.

Training: Taking classes in emergency preparedness, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), sheltering, damage assessment, first aid, CPR, severe weather spotting and other unique opportunities.

Volunteer service: Engaging individuals in volunteer activities that support first responders, disaster relief groups, and community organizations. Everyone can do something to support the four stages of emergency management: prevention, mitigation, response and recovery efforts. EMA volunteers work directly with village staff to update and monitor the effectiveness of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
