Brian was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado but grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, where he lived until he was 20. His dad was a technology entrepreneur and that started his lifetime love/hate relationship with technology. Brian graduated with an English degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. After graduation he moved to Seattle where he worked for Microsoft for a few years in the early 90’s before moving to Palo Alto where he started his first company. At Microsoft he got the opportunity to meet Bill Gates and when he moved to Silicon Valley he worked with Alan Cooper and his wife Sue who are pioneers and leaders in people centered design. Brian is now back in Iowa, living in Des Moines near friends and family.
