Lidbookstamped

My collection consists of all hardcover/dustjacketed books, most of which are first editions. I started out collecting childrens mystery stories but kept coming across so many other terrific books that now I buy whatever catches my eye. I really like illustrated books (mostly black and white pen and ink illustrations).

I started out collecting adult mystery hardcovers. About six years ago, I came across a book I had read as a kid and really liked, "The Swing In The Summerhouse" by Jane Langton. I bought it on the spur of the moment to read again. It turns out that the book is part of a series of books about the same family (which I never knew as a kid). I ended up hunting down the other books in the series and had so much fun reading them, I decided to look for other books I had read and enjoyed when I was a kid. Suddenly, I found myself buying childrens hardcovers instead of adult books and I was hooked! Now, six years later, I have collected over 3000 childrens/young adult books and couldn't be happier! I love kids books. I sold my collection of adult firsts and don't miss them a bit. (Well, maybe a little)
