I have been teaching for 22 years. My teaching experience has been in first, second, third, fifth and sixth grades. I am very excited to be the new media specialist at Pontiac Elementary. I am married to a middle school administrator and have 2 children. My father was a principal for 33 years, so as you can tell education is a very large part of my life. I enjoy vacationing at the beach. I also play on a tennis team with some neighborhood friends. I love to read. My reading interests consist mainly of non-fiction and children's books. However, I enjoy reading almost anything that I can get my hands on. We have a black lab named Clem (short for Clemson). Yes, the blood does run orange at our house. My oldest son is still holding out on us though and remains to be a diehard gamecock! My boys have worked wonders with Clem. He will sit, shake and lie down on command. They are currently working on fetching. He is definitely an asset to the Haltiwanger household! I grew up in Anderson, SC. I received a BS in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop College, an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education and an M.Ed. in School Leadership from The University of South Carolina. I have continued my education by attending classes, workshops and participating in curriculum book studies.
