My fiction is kind of small. Librarians don't get paid much and it's a little silly, I guess, for us to spend money on buying books when we can check them out for free. I used to have a large self-help section, but then I got smart and realized that none of them knew a darn thing and threw them away. The rest are history,art and architecture books...necessities for my undergraduate degree (architectural history)

I’m currently living in a small town in northern Oklahoma with my husband and our two beagles. For the past three years I’ve been working as a reference librarians assistant while attending school part time. As long as I can make it through the next three semesters, I will graduate with a Masters in Library and Information Science in Fall of 2006.

I have a sort of multicultural background. I was originally born in Norway and spent most of my childhood bouncing between the coasts of Norway and Scotland where I attended private international schools with kids from all around the world. It was a wonderful way to grow up and provided many valuable experiences which have nurtured my interest as an adult in international librarianship. I’m especially interested in becoming involved with efforts to establish or rebuild library services in countries that are transitioning out of war. Practically speaking, where my future career is concerned (as in, how I’m actually going to make a living and feed my family), I plan to pursue a job as a Young Adult Librarian somewhere on the East Coast.

Some of my general interests include reading, journaling, altered books, collage, knitting, playing D&D, chocolate, lazy Sunday afternoons, yoga, having deep philosophical conversations with my dogs, watching British comedies and dramas, picking on low-carb dieters and running barefoot in grass. As for things I don’t like, cooking definitely tops the list (especially baking-what a mess!) and I generally don’t tolerate mean people.
