Over mijn bibliotheek
All the books in the Mama Cafe lending library have been donated by local parents. They cover lots of different aspects of parenting and many different approaches to challenges, and you may find some more useful than others. You are welcome to borrow any of them for as long as it is useful, or someone else needs it; please pop along to see us @ The Soup Seller on a Monday morning, or send us a message on facebook. When you are finished with it, please return it to us so other parents can borrow it.

This lending facility is provided only for your convenience. The Mama Cafe does not endorse any of these books. They are not under the control of The Mama Cafe and we are not responsible for their content.
Over mij
We’re not experts; we’re parents who like to chat about anything and everything to do with parenting, pregnancy and birth. We meet at the Soup Seller every Monday morning to swap tips and tricks for dealing with the everyday challenges of living with little ones while our children play.

The Mama Cafe is facilitated by Glossop mums, Sarah and Dawn; our chief responsibility is making sure that everyone has a brew. Between us, we have extensive knowledge of local services and a big pile of leaflets so we can usually point you in the right direction for support and advice on particular issues. We also host the Mama Cafe Lending Library; a growing community library of parenting books, donated by local parents and available for others to borrow for free.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re expecting or your children are already at school. Right from the start, we all make different parenting choices for thousands of reasons: from breast or bottle feeding, co-sleeping or crying it out, purees or baby-led, right through to how to deal with challenging behaviour when our children get older. We love to talk about what leads us to these decisions and believe that by sharing our experiences we can learn from each other and, just perhaps consider approaches and strategies we might not otherwise have tried.

We are proud to belong to such a strong, vibrant community as you find amongst Glossop parents and hope that the Mama Cafe will be another avenue to tap into that support network.
