Fortunatamente (origineel 1964; editie 2010)door Remy CharlipGo on a wonderfully wild adventure with Ned in this Classic Board Book edition of Fortunately from celebrated dancer, choreographer, and beloved author and illustrator Remy Charlip Abraham Remy Charlip (January 10, 1929 – August 14, 2012) was an American artist, writer, choreographer, theatre director, theatrical designer, and teacher. He wrote or illustrated more than 40 children's books I gave this pattern book a 5/5 because it was very well done and the pattern was clear and easy to follow along to. This book would be great to use with students who are struggling readers because the words repeat, however some of the words are a little difficult so the student might need some assistance. I also love the colors that the illustrators use to engage the reader and the illustrations are really well done. This book would also be fun to do a behavior graph of and compare it to that of another text. The students will also see how the pattern appears in their graph. This book is cute and great pattern book. This picture book is great for students because it can teach them about cause and effect in an engaging and different way. The story is about a boy who wanted to go to a party and so may things happened in between the whole process, but he finally made it to his destination. The different colored pages help the student see if the event is a positive or negative one. Abraham Remy Charlip, who died in 2012 at the age of 83, was an American artist, writer, choreographer, theatre director, theatrical designer, and teacher. He wrote or illustrated 29 children's books. Charlip studied art at Straubenmuller Textile High School in Manhattan, and fine arts at Cooper Union in New York. Source: Wikipedia.com. Charlip was both the writer and illustrator of "Fortunately." The reviewer for "School Library Journal," said of this work, "Imaginative illustrations make the most of this wonderfully wild adventure." This is a predictable book and makes for a fun, interactive book to share with a young classroom. The predictions of the terms fortunately and unfortunately is seen in a pattern throughout the book. This helps the students to better understand the terms and use them in the correct context. A classroom activity that can be done following this book is that the students can think of their own fortunately and unfortunately scenarios and illustrate them to share with their peers. |
