Rick Moody?

Can anyone give me their opinion on this writer's short stories? I can't make up my mind whether I'll like him or not. I'm a fan of Tobias Wolff, Thom Jones (Sonny Liston Was A Friend of Mine in particular), and writers like Larry Brown. The Demonology collection has some mixed reviews (to say the least) but I can't help but think that the title story alone might be worth getting hold of a copy. I've only recently come across Moody's books - any opinions?

That's one of the authors I almost never recommend - not because I don't like him but because I like some stories for very different reasons. And then I cannot even finish some of his other stories. So... try it.
