Hello, I am currently reading The Malay Archipelago by Alfred Russel Wallace. I have had my copy for a couple of years (at least!) but thought that I really must read it in this his centenary year. It is a fascinating read, although very much of it's time. I found aspects of the early chapters with the descriptions of shooting Orangutans quite unpleasant (also the treatment of 'lesser races'). However, my 21st century sensitivities aside, it is still a great read about an incredible man.
