I'm ploughing through Insomnia but it is the first King book that I can easily put down. I checked the thread about 'worst books' and found a mention. I feel quite annoyed as up until now I had relished everything he had written!

Yeah, it's definitely one to skip. King himself admitted later that he 'tried too hard' on that one.

contrary to its title, that one put me to sleep. the first SK I didn't finish apart from some of the Dark Tower books.

Thanks for the reviews/ratings. Comparing the ratings you give books compared to mine, it seems I would agree. I had no plans to read the book, but will definitely skip it now.

Regards

I think sort of interesting: The average rating at LibraryThing for Insomnia is 3.65. For an author I like, that would lead me to read the book. (For an author I do not know the average rating needs to be higher than a 4.)

Well, just for a counterpoint, it's one of my top 5 King books! I guess if you struggle to identify with Ralph it could be hard going but I think it's excellent.

I enjoyed this one. I liked the character of Ralph, but I must admit the plot 'veered off' at the end of this one :)
