Young adult book where teenage girl goes back in time

There's a book I read in about 2001-2004 when I was in high school and I can't remember the name of it. I don't remember a lot but I do remember it had to do with a teenage girl traveling back in time maybe while she was on vacation. She meets someone when she travels back and I believe it turns out he was a distant relative of hers. I think I also remember that she saved his life. If anyone knows what book this might be it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

An Acceptable Time by Madeleine L'Engle, perhaps? It was published in 1989 but would certainly have been in high school libraries in the early 2000s.

Maybe Prisoner of Time - Caroline B. Cooney? Also, she wrote the Time Travelers which are books 1 and 2 in one volume.
