Since so many of us are reading Foxglove Summer this week upon its US release yesterday, I thought we might want to share our reactions here in a more focused forum than spread across our threads. Feel free to join in.

I finished last night and enjoyed it mightily. I won't put any spoilers in this message so that people can check in if they want before discussion starts.

Well, I have it but it will be awhile before I get to it. At least a week.

I was worried I wasn't going to enjoy this entry because Peter leaves London and London is the charm of this series. All in all I was pleasantly surprised. It's not my favorite entry but I did enjoy it. I liked the Beverly and Peter aspect and I'm glad Leslie was in it but she is now as much of a mystery as the Invisible Man.

It was wrapped up too quickly for my taste.

(trying to avoid spoilers here) It did seem like a bit of a departure from the rest of the series, mostly concerning the events happening outside of London (our protagonist being without the majority of his usual support structure, contextually and tactically). I'm also one with luvamystery65 in that it seemed to wrap up to quickly... In all it seemed like this book could have been a side tale that was there to just give flavor to the Rivers universe without impacting the mythos and plot that runs through the rest of the series too much. I did enjoy reading it, but sort of feel like we've been put on hold for a bit while the author takes some time to hash out some details for the rest of the main story.

>9 Woebane: This is what I wrote in my mini-review on my thread, I am starting to think of this entry as a side trip for the series.

Great minds! :-)
