As best I can recall, the author poses and then answers a number of probably useless but fun hypothetical questions that involve physics--questions of the sort that a really curious kid (or adult kid) might think up, involving gigantic floating or falling things, things in space, etc. For example (although these are not from the book): if you filled a football stadium with ice cubes, how long would it take to melt? How many reindeer would it take to pull a sleigh containing the Great Pyramid? That sort of thing.
I've seen comments about this book here on LT sometime in the past year, but I can't remember where or by whom.
Thank you.

It's compiled from http://what-if.xkcd.com/ so have a look there for a taster. Great fun!
