Visit Baker Street

I hope this doen't offend anyone here that I think Mr. Sherlock Holmes is hardcore detective work in action. And I was writing a story for a friend in this famous style when I found something in my research that I cannot get enough of and I thought those that visit here may also like it.

There is a live webcast from 221b Baker Street. Yep, 24/7 there is a camera running and updatng every 10 seconds. It is my second favorite live cam shot.

I'd be surprised if anyone were offended by that.

But it is, to say the least, a stretch to associate Sherlock Holmes with hardboiled/noir. He's from a different era; the language and feel are completely different.

Have you seen the Baker Street and Beyond group?

Sorry if you are offended, but I jusr wanted to say hardcore types usually have at least one bottle of booze in their desk and they often get woken from a drunken stupor. Also they are usually single men and the problems come knocking on their door.

Sherlock is just from another era, that is what I think bothers you.
The era that started all of this wonderful literature.

To get back to the title of this thread 'Visit Baker Street',and the webcast that you mention.What you do not say is that this is run to publicise the 'Sherlock Holmes Museum' in Baker Street. (but not at 221b,which is the address of the Abbey National Building Society) There has been much debate about both the incorrect use of address and indeed about the,shall we say,disney-land style,and the commercial aspect of the place over the last few years.Having visited,I can say it is a fairly enjoyable experience,but many other sites are better and preferable.
As to Sherlock Holmes himself,I am sure that as he has survived literally hundreds of pastiches and parodies,another one will not matter one way or the other.
