I have yet to finish any books this year (despite 1.5 snow days!), so I thought that starting this thread might inspire me to finish one of the books I've been working on. I read 85 books in 2007, so I'm going to go for 100 this year. I'm going to try to read more classic fiction and also try to read books that I already own, instead of going to the library or buying new ones.
Here's to another year of good books!

I thought In the Devil's Snare was really interesting. Just before I read it, I read another book on the Salem witchcraft crisis of the sort that she criticizes, which made it easier to understand her points.

>11 Corinne: I am trying to remember, but it's a book I don't have anymore, and I read it before I joined LT, so I don't have any record of it. If I think of the title, I'll let you know.

I moved and started a new job in February, so I haven't had much time for reading....feels good to finish a book, though!

Corinne, a while ago I had posted in your thread a comment about In the Devil's Snare. I finally remembered the title of the other book that I had read before that one when I saw it at a book sale today--it's called A Devil in Massachusetts by Marion Starkey.

I love Trixie Belden books, Corinne! I used to have all of them, but I got some from my parent's house over Memorial Day, and I think my sister stole them. The Mystery of the Blinking Eye was my favorite! There was another one about her discovering fish with no eyes in either the Catskills or the Ozarks...but I don't remember it :)

I didn't remember the Mystery of the Blinking Eye at all, but I found it at a used bookstore recently and loved it! I vaguely remember the blind fish, but I don't remember which book it was.

I've been keeping track of all the books I read with titles and authors as well as a short review. I'm not doing that here, tho maybe I'll start that next year. I'm averaging about a book a week, some months more, some months less, depending on what I have going on in my life at that time.
