Superconductors

In August 2023, The Economist magazine published an article on an apparent breakthrough in the development of superconductors. That article is paywalled, so I could only read the 1st 2 paragraphs:

https://www.economist.com/the-economist-explains/2023/08/03/have-scientists-real...

I will buy the print edition this week to see in what other science journals these inventors have already been published. Maybe even the (free) Public Library of Science (PLOS) online has some relevant articles.

Sorry but this material has been tested by several other labs by now and it is not a superconductor. So you can save your money :-)

Similar to cold fusion news, always to be taken with a grain of salt. When one of these actually happens it's going to be with a slow wave of credulity, given all the false hopes we've had.

Thank you both very much. With that paywall, I had to wait to check it out any further. Good to know.

Scientists discover strange 'singularities' responsible for exotic type of superconductivity :
Is a recent article at Space.com touting a promising direction for the development of high temperature superconductors. It is detailed enough that I have to read it again before I can pretend to understand it.

This journal article is paywalled, but it represents real progress in this field:
