Young Adult contemporary fiction, Published sometime in the 2000's-2010's.
Set in Australia. After high school, 3 friends (boy, his girlfriend and his best friend - an Aboriginal boy), clime to the top of a water tower to get drunk. The main boy gets so drunk he passes out. The friend rapes his girlfriend. Some time in the book the main boy murders his friend in revenge. Not sure if jail is involved. All I've had to go on.
