Found: Children’s series girl called Jessica(?) with a friend called Eileen

I’m from UK and remember reading in 90/00s about a girl called Jessica who lived on a street with her mum. Her friend Eileen lived down the road. One story is that Jessica wanted to repaint her chalkboard and she used tar paint but spilt some on her carpet. She got scared and so she ran away but she was poorly with the flu and so she ended up fainting in an ice cream shop or bakery?
When she woke up she was in her bed and her carpet was clean again and her mum said she was only in trouble because she ran away.
