Historical Romance, mail order bride, priest

Looking for the name of a book I read maybe 15 years ago. I think maybe it's kind of a take on Taming of the Schrew.

Historical Romance, a pastor/vicar/priest ordered a mail-order-bride but when she geta off the train she's really rough, smells strongly of garlic and has a really lower class accent. They aren't married until the end of the book.

Some other things i remember:
He won't let her in the house until she has a bath in the cold creek? He checks her hair for lice and she says something along the lines of "I 'aint got no bugs, I eat garlic and it keeps the bugs away".

She's illiterate and he teaches her to read and slowly teaches her to be more ladylike, ie. No swearing, no tracking mud in the house, imoroving pronunciation

At one point later in the book they have a fight and she stays in a room at the brothel and gets advice from the madame about how to seduce a man. She makes some kind of massage cream with ?avocado? and gives him a massage in an attempt to seduce him.

Im pretty sure she also has a brother that turns up at some stage and she tells him to try to find work at a stable or something because he's good with animals.

Thanks in advance, I hope you all can help!
