Spooky short story

I read a short story about 20 years ago and have been hunting for it ever since. It starts with two women cutting fabric for one of their wedding dress. The anticipation builds as they wait for the groom. When he arrives, he is the devil or a demon of some sort.

I remember it having a Shirley Jackson sort of feel to it. I haven’t found it among her short stories though.
