My final rating for the book will be a 4.0 because of the difficulty for understanding what is happening. Don’t want to feel like a chore to read the book.

My rating is 4.0, not my type of genre, but liked the style of the author. Lost some points as >2 EadieB: states had to follow.

I think I’m going with 4★s this time, I feel Oswald underutilised two of the more colourful characters: Mrs McCutcheon’s cat and Grumpy Bob. Retiring Grumpy Bob when he was a good foil for McLean is a waste, in my opinion. A police Inspector needs a sidekick.

I also gave it a 4. I thought the paranormal aspect should have been explained better...and not everyone is like me and eats the paranormal themed books for breakfast:)

I will also give it a 4 mainly because I did not feel that the supernatural elements were well integrated. I did like the investigation side of the book.

Not one to spoil a pattern, I also give it a 4. Like John >3 JohnDBurke: I do like the style of the books, and the setting, but I’d rather have a purist crime book rather than the supernatural element - I felt this one had too much of the supernatural element and didn’t feel for me as if everything was resolved.

That;s a very easy average to calculate, a big round 4!

>8 Andrew-theQM: Math is not my favorite anything...but even I can do this without a calculator:)
