When you trawl through the annals of Phantom history there are many anomalies. For example, the origin of the Phantom.
in The Singh brotherhood, Englishman Sir Christopher Standish sailed with his father from London in 1525. They were attacked by Singh pirates in the bay of Bengal and Sir Christopher sees them kill his father. he swears an oath on his father's skull and becomes the first Phantom.

However, in Walker's Table, Captain Kit Walker was cabin boy to Christopher Columbus! He is later killed by pirates and his son, Kit, survives to become the first Phantom.

I'll be adding other anomalies as I find them and welcome any that you find.

The one I'm familiar with is the first one you mention about is father being killed by Pirates and he swears an oath on his father's skull and thus becomes the first Phantom. I remember years ago the Washington Post used to carry The Phantom Comic Strip and I'd read it every day and on Sunday it would be in full colour. Every now and then The Post would run the origin of The Phantom. There was even a movie of The Phantom with Billy Zane as The Phantom.

I saw the movie and also have the movie serial made in the 60s (I think) which is great fun.
