See, I've seen this scattered across my flist, and *totally* thought the goal was 100 books ...
So, um, hooray. I'm a masochist!
Anyway, you can check out my thus-far list right here: http://golden-theta.livejournal.com/134618.html
I've got a ways to go. And I'm cheering for all of you. :)

Are you a member of the LJ 50 Book Challenge group?
I'm 2 books in so far: Only Revolutions by Mark Z. Danielewski and Undersong by Audre Lorde.
I've started a third book, House of Leaves, by Mark Z. Danielewski, and when I get home I'm going to also read Memories of a Catholic Girlhood by Mary McCarthy and The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

I'm not a member of LJ and I've never kept track of how many books I read in a year. I thought this would be a fun way of doing it; and would challenge me to read more. So far, I am 1 1/2 books into it. I've finished One True Thing by Anna Quindlen and have started Helen of Troy by Margaret George.

Well, in the LJ group, which this is based on, 50 is just a suggestion. You can pick whatever goal you want. Last year, my goal was 100. This year I'm going to be a lot busier, so my goal is 85.
So far, I've read:
Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny*
Redwall by Brian Jacques
Many Waters by Madeleine L'Engle
An Acceptable Time by Madeleine L'Engle
* denotes a book I haven't read before, which I also keep track of (since, obviously, I reread a lot :), goal of 25 new reads
I'm currently halfway through Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce (another reread). When I finish this, I will probably go to a book I haven't read before - there are a couple of books that I only half-finished last year, and I have a few old SF books (but new to me) that I got from my parents when we cleaned out a bookcase of theirs over the holidays.

Actually, I want to try to read 100, and so far I have read three. I like the challenge!

I was just wondering...for your livejournal list, are you just editing the entry everytime you add a new book? I wasn't sure how to make that work.
I thought about just tagging each book "2007" as I add it here.
Also, I had to read Canticle for Leibowitz a few years ago. I expected to hate it but ended up really enjoying it. It was definitely different though!

I post on my livejournal, the LJ comms 15000pages and 50_in_07, and here for every one to three(ish) books I finish. I tag my lj entries "book posts 07" and I put the community entries into memories with the same name (in case I need to find them quickly, which I have on occasion - like when I somehow managed to put the wrong author in once??).
When I tag books a year here, it's the year I bought or got them (which isn't necessarily the year I read them).

I'm going for 100, though I'd hardly call reading more an act of masochism...
