Of the eventual game equalizing goal yesterday against the Germans and instead of going in at Half-time all tied up at 2-2 they were a goal short a 2-1 because soem Bloody, Freakin' Non-Call by the Ref didn't see it as a goal. It was a very controversial play and I hope this will serve as a wake up to the FIFA that they NEED to install an Instant Replay system just like the NFL has had for years and also allow the Team Managers to throw a reg flag down on controviersial calls like what went against England. That Non-Call totally changed how England played the rest of the game and took away any momentum they would've had by scoring the game-tying goal and instead gave the momentum back to the Bloody Germans.

The Refs totally SCREWED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so Pissed off at them for BLOWING IT for England. FIFA definitely needs to install an Instant Replay system. Even Major League Baseball has installed an Instant Replay system for controversial calls blown or not called by the Umps.

Rubbish! The English team lost for a reason: low performance. Don't try to find excuses in a wrong ref decision.

Eta: ... probably it was karma hitting back at the poms for Wembley 1966..

Even the Announcers of the game said it was a bad call and that it should've been a GOAL for England. I saw the Replay and it surely crossed the white line. No one is gonna change my mind and say it wasn't a Goal. Like I said in #1 that equalizing goal would've changed things in the second half for England and give them momentum to start the second half. England was ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you asked the Team Manager or any of the fans whether or not Engalnd was Robbed and they would tell you YES!!! They were in fact ROBBED of the eventual game-tying goal. FIFA needs to get with the Program and install some kind of an Instant Replay system. I watch the NFL games every week during the Season and Post-Season and have seen a BLOWN CALL like what happened against England turn one team around and make the difference between winning or losing. Even the NFL'S Zebra's (Refs) BLOW Calls and need to get it right.

I'll admit that England could've played a heck of a lot better than they actually did however that equalizing goal would've given England a lot of confidence as a result of the game-tying goal and the outcome might've been a lot different. But the fact still remains the same that England was ROBBED!!!

I did hear the Announcers say maybe it was Karma for what happened to the Germans in '66 when England defeated them 4-2 to win the Cup at that time.

Not that it matters, but I don't recall you getting this bent out of shape when the Americans were miscalled on a goal. Are you by chance an Anglophile?

WholeHouseLibrary you're right about the fact that I never got bent out shape when the Ameicans were miscalled out of a goal. Yes, I've always been a huge Anglophile and in fact was rooting for Engalnd to beat the USA when they recently played each other. I was real disappointed England could have a Draw with the USA. I've always thought I would love to work and live in England one day. England has given the World so much such as great Political leaders like Winston Churchill, Poets, Playwrights, Authors, the English language, Great Professional Athletes pver the years, Queens & Kings, great Actresses & Actors, British Comedies and other Television Shows, Doctor Who, the BBC, BBC America, British Radar detecting German Air crafts during WWII, Singers Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, Vera Lynn, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Sting and Rock Groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, THE WHO, Herman's Hermits, Yes, Pink Floyd, Cream among others.

So yes I am a huge Anglophile and have always wanted to visit England and see Stone henge, the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace, ride a double decker bus, visit the Victoria & Albert Museum, browse some of the London Book Shops, maybe see an Arsenal or Man United game and a lot of other things Tourists see and do whenever they visit England. London is my kind of town with the hustle and bustle and places to go shopping and sites to see and the people as well. I only wish I could've been there in the 60s and experienced Beatlemania first hand for myself.

You should not be willing to overlook a bad call because it is called against a team battling your favorite. That aside, Germany was easily the superior team in that match - just as Ghana was over America.

How about other Nations complaining about the very poor officiating? And have the Refs miss other goals that should've counted as well. Other Countries are now saying they think FIFA should go to an Instant Replay system. So it looks like I'm not the only one who feels this way.

If England had lost by just that one goal you might have a point. They didn't, they (we) were rubbish. Getting over what you perceive to be a bad call is all part of the game. If you're really suggesting that that one goal was enough to put the team of their stroke for the rest of the match then they were not mentally fit to be playing. I just thank god some of the flags are finally coming down and we now get something like a couple of minutes each day when the country is able to focus on something just a little more important than a bunch of men kicking a ball around. And, incidentally, Rod Stewart is Scottish, not English.

Sorry about that my mistake. I knew that like I know Tom Jones is Welsh. I have some of his albums at home including a few Small faces. I know the Scots and English really hated each other for Centuries and always seemed tp be at War with one another. But the fact still remains England isn't the only Country who's upset with the officiating of the Refs during the World Cup.
Argentinia was denied a goal against Mexico, the USA was denied a goal against Ghana and there's probably even more than that too.
I saw on Fox News that they think FIFA should get an Instant Replay system because of these mistakes.

Its interesting reading this thread. There's no doubt that Lampards goal should have counted and at 2-2 its a different game.

However the team in the world cup who WAS the most hard done by referees was New Zealand. New Zealand conceded just two goals in three games. The first (by Slovakia) was at least two yards offside. It is unarguable (as is Lampards!). The second goal conceded by New Zealand was a penalty by Italy for a blatant dive. Two goals both wrongly awarded and if either one had been correctly disallowed New Zealand would have been in the last 16.
Incidentally New Zealand were denied a blatant penalty in the Italian match when Reid was elbowed in the face by an Italian defender, as well.

But typically all we hear about are the Mexicans & the English incidents....no one cares about whether the "minnows" are robbed....
Theres two sets of rules in operation at world cups.

Personally I think it's time that FIFA needs to take a page from the NFL and allow the Managers of all the Football Teams to throw a Red Flag and challenge the Refs call anytime they feel that a bad or controversial call has been made against their team and then have those bad & controversial calls to be reviewed under the booth. This might be the ideal perfect solution so that bad & controversial calls don't cost teams goals and possibly victories in the future. I would love to see it implemented in Regular Season, FA Cup, World Cup, & all other Football Tournaments as well. This is the only fair way to completely get rid of FIFA's problems with bad officiating just like the NFL's Zebra's ( Refs ) still have their fair share of blown & controversial calls however if a team is correct and it gets over turned it is in that particular team's best interest. However, I wish this would work for me whenever I use my Madden 2004 NFL PS2 game. Because in the past whenever there's a controversial call and it goes to the Booth to be reviewed I ALWAYS wind up losing 9 out of every 10 calls which of course is very frustrating for me & also Pisses Me Off that it is favored to go against you a majority of the time. I wish there was a way I could fix this feature to go my way more often than not. Is there some kind of Cheat feature or trick to changing the system in my PS game?
