I gave it three 1/2 stars rounded to 4. The premise was interesting--a Christian murder mystery. The "preachiness" of the storyline did not bother me because that was part of the book's purpose. My main complaint was that everyone was in love with the main character, Dani Ross. She was supposed to be a beacon of light that modeled her faith. She came across as a perfect saint in an unrealistic manner. At times, it got kind of annoying. The ending also kind of lost me a bit. She wraps the murders up in a pretty bow, then gets mad for doing it and pitches a hissy fit. I will read more in the series because the writing does have something there to keep you interested. The theater is Jonathan Ainsley's life. Yet if this latest play isn't a smash, it may be his final production -- a finale someone wants very much to see. But Jonathan won't be deterred by threats; the show simply must go on! A fan of Jonathan's since his award-winning performance, Dani Ross is shocked when he enters her office and overwhelmed when she hears his request. But not until she arrives in New York does Dani realize how difficult this latest case will be to solve. Surrounded by performers, it's nearly impossible to discern who's telling the truth and who's just playing another part. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
