Pop is getting old, he's decided (or his daughter has decided for him) that he's moving into a retirement home and selling his airplane. But his granddaughter, propelled by an odd poem written by her (deceased) grandmother, convinces him to carry out his old dream of flying coast to coast - South Carolina to California - with her. The rest of the book is occasional glimpses of their flight, and her babbling. About what she's seeing, about poetry, about the heat, about a cute boy, about anything and everything. Ghahh. I was almost as annoyed as Pop - but at least I wasn't trapped in a plane with her for days on end. I'd much rather have read this story from Pop's point of view. It wasn't horrible, but I do not intend to reread. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
