Fun to read the rhymes out loud and the pictures are great and off-the-wall, but the searches are fairly simple. ( )

I love this book. It is a great book that will keep readers of all ages intrigued. First, the pictures are beautiful and unique. Staake never disappoints when it comes to his illustrations. My favorite page is the “underwater” scene that includes not just fish and sea creatures, but bears, robots, and a castle. The pictures are colorful and unique which makes them so intriguing. The other thing I really enjoyed about this book is the use of language. Like many of Staake’s books, it is written using rhymes. This keeps the book flowing smoothly even with the use of silly phrases. One of my favorite lines is, “Aqua-goofy jubilee! Search to find the honeybee!” The main message of the story is that things are not always as they seem and to look beyond the tip of your nose. ( )

This book is wonderful for many reasons, one being the beautiful and imaginative illustrations Bob Staake produces. Another is the using of rhyming he has throughout the book making it a wonderful choice for children learning to rhyme in the beginning stages. I read this book to my Kindergarten class and they absolutely loved it. The interactive details he allows throughout the pages really bring it to life. Rhyming can be a difficult thing to learn for children whose vocabulary isn't quite there yet, but Bob Staake makes it quite easy with his use of quirky and imaginative language. I would absolutely recommend this book for teachers or parents who are trying to teach their kids how to rhyme while also keeping their attention throughout the book. ( )

Look! A Book! by Bob Staake is a children's picture book that is fictional. This book is a book chalk full of fun activities which include using your imagination. Throughout the story children can play a fun game of I Spy that stretches their brains to limits. Also throughout the book their is limited words. It lets the children make their own story. This is a great book to have in the car on roads trips, but also in the classroom for a silly story to just have fun with. As a future teacher this book could be used as a great imagination book to get the kids creative juices flowing. You could use this as a project. Have the children make their own book that is similar to this story. The illustrations in this book are awesome with bright vivid colors that jump out at you. Each pages takes you to a different creative world. ( )

I liked this book for a few reasons. I thought that including the descriptive, inventive language of the poem into an interactive book really helped to make it an enjoyable experience. The illustrations that are on the interactive pages are all extremely detailed and fun to look at. The main idea of the poem in this book is to teach children about words that rhyme and how to find them in the mix of all other vocabulary.
