A fun, light-hearted read about a boy who helps his aunt's firm solve a murder mystery. I really liked both Noah and Ahmet, the author captured their voices beautifully and they made me smile. ( )

I was on edge for a while, sure my embarrassment squick was going to be set off when Noah's investigations all turned to custard, but though things weren't perfectly smooth it wasn't that kind of book after all. A light fun read. ( )

16 year old Noah is "sentenced" to do work experience all summer at his aunt's law firm by his QC father as punishment for a series of hilariously clever antics at his posh private school. (For example, he changes all the grades on a set of test papers so his friends get better marks but the snobby know all he gives 10 out of 100 -not the original 10!) While at the aw firm he meets Jacinta, 2 years older and very cute, who shows him the ropes - i.e. stay out of "That Bitch!" Casey's way and photocopy, staple and file.
He helps Casey take notes in an insurance case and starts to see things don't quite add up - a woman murdered in a carpark, a "grieving" widow who has a girl on the side and meets his opponent in secret, and that's just the beginning! Funny and engaging although there is quite a lot of legal jargon so I'm not sure what kids would think of it - whether it is too complex or not.

This book is set in the 21st century. I found this book really interesting and inspiring. It held my attention the whole way through the book, I din’t want to put it down. I love how Noah bends a few rules to get the bottom of the case and gets the truth out of people to bring a criminal down.

I would recommend this book for both male and female aged 14+ as it is all about the law.

A must read. I would give it 5 out of 5. Loved this book as it shows how one person can make a difference if you never give up despite what other people around you are thinking or saying. ( )
