Thoroughly enjoyed this, the first I've read of Zoe Winters. Loved the wisecracks, and the ambient humour made me smile. The supporting characters are finely drawn, and the twists in the plot/storyline kept me intrigued. I didn't see the end coming at all. If you've never read Paranormal Romance, this is a good one with plenty of story, well conveyed. ( )

This is good for a self-published paranormal romance, but most of the action in this series takes place in a small town in Georgia (similar to the town where I grew up), so the world just feels too small. ( )

I just started this series and this author just a few days ago and I am in love. I really enjoyed the first book [b:Blood Lust|8972234|Blood Lust (Preternaturals, #1)|Zoe Winters|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1282364206s/8972234.jpg|13849263], so I went out and got this one.

At first I was a little disappointed. It started much slower than the first book (which is actually three novellas in one). Part is that this was a full length book, so there was more build up at the beginning. Anna is a somewhat weak heroine, but does get better throughout the book. Luc doesn't make a physical appearance for several chapters.

There is a lot of story that goes one in the middle and while it is good, I will leave that up to the reader to go through. The end is wonderful. There is a big twist that I can't speak about.

While this wasn't my favorite story, it is still very good. I will continue to read the series and see what else this author has out there. ( )
