It's like my F&G arrived with some pages missing, or something. Review later. ( ) Rabbits are strange, we are told. They all have their own quirks. Otto the rabbit only wants to eat carrots. He eats so many carrots that his ears turn into carrots. Soon the other rabbits are calling him Otto Carrotto. It becomes unbearable for Otto. He decides to stop eating only carrots. Now he will only eat spinach. Hilariously funny pictures for children and grownups with similarly hilariously funny text. “Otto runs away. He is afraid and hides behind the trees. What will happen now? He doesn’t dare go back to school. Does everybody think he is a carrot? And does everybody want to nibble on him? He can’t hide from the other rabbits forever!” Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I found this book to be a bit strange. All the rabbits seem to have one thing on their minds. I think these rabbits have a problem with obsession. Maybe this book is about widening out in our tastes but no he switches his affections to something of a different color but still only one thing. I didn't see the point of this book. I'm sorry author but I must tell the truth. I thought carrots were good for your eyes.... Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Summary: Otto Carrotto is the story of a bunny obsessed with eating carrots. He eats so many carrots that his ears begin turning into carrots! Otto decides in the end to eat nothing but spinach!Personal Reaction: The illustrations in this story struck me. They are so childlike and appealing...a few pages even have scribbles on them! The cover is a fantastic illustration of a wide variety of ways to represent a carrot artistically. Classroom Extension Ideas: This book would be useful to open a classroom discussion of healthy eating: everything in moderation, variety is necessary. Of course, it would also be a great springtime story to incorporate during the Easter holidays. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Otto Carrotto is a charming picture book that illustrates how too much of a good thing can sometimes just be too much! It would be an excellent to share when learning bout moderation as well as showing that it's not what we like that makes us interesting people, but who we are that is important. The illustrations are captivating - each page is filled with pictures to look at and asides to read - sort of similar to Laurie Keller's style. The one element I feel is missing is there is no investment made in Otto's character - the reader doesn't really have the opportunity to get attached to him and empathize with him. Due to this missing element, the book is easily set aside after one reading. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
