A good introduction for desperate teachers like me. Some of the essays hold up better than others (it was published in 1989). For example, the psychoanalytic essay seems a bit thin, especially given its focus on Freud (even 1989, it could have cited Lacan. It gestures towards Levinas, but that's not enough). ( )
